Apple Crumble


Serves 4-6





4-6 granny smith apples

¾ cup sugar

¼ cup flour

½ teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1 Tablespoon lemon juice



¾ cup flour

¾ cup oats

¾ cup brown sugar

¾ cup butter or coconut oil

½ teaspoon cinnamon




Preheat the oven to 175 C (350 F). Chop the apples into small cubes. Toss together with the flour, sugar and spices. Place into a medium sized casserole dish. Should fill it about ¾ full. In a separate dish, combine the crumble ingredients. Rub together with your hands until a crumb-like consistency. Sprinkle over the top of the apples. Bake for 1 hour or until the apples are bubbling through the crumble. Optional: can add rhubarb, berries, raisins to the apple mix for a little extra wow!
